My Story

Since my early childhood I had always wanted to be a nurse and caregiver.

Nearly thirty years ago I attained that dream, caring for patients at a busy inner-city hospital. Little did I know that I would spend ten of those years trying to figure out why I felt so tired, permanently cold. Especially considering I was living in the Midwest and I was freezing at the height of summer. These and other symptoms left me feeling alone and dispirited.

My name is Siobhan, I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, and nurse. I spent years living with undiagnosed Hashimoto’s disease. I remember going to see doctors who would tell me everything from “your thyroid is a little off” to “here is a pill to help” and “you look good and are tired because you are a mom”. It wasn’t until I moved to the west coast and met a Naturopath who truly listened to me and diagnosed me. It was a eureka moment where it began to come together that it was not just the diagnosis, and not just treated with a pill. It was full evaluation of my life, diet, mind, and approach to life.

It has been this journey where I have learned the importance of living holistically. I have learned to overcome my symptoms by changing my diet and lifestyle. Although not easy at times the strength I have gained through educating myself and learning from the auto-immune community. In my drive to find more answers to healing, I have become certified as an Integrative Health Coach by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The whole process of changing felt daunting at times, but I am at a place where I have a found a new vitality and outlook on life.
